Happy to have a nice Smoothie installed today. It works a treat, but as far as the network is concerned only if proxy settings are directly entered into the internet connection properties. Nothing I can do with either wpad.dat or proxy.pac appears to work! :(
I'm fairly sure it's not a Smoothwall...
